Can it be cured? If so, how? If not, is there any way that we can at least treat it?

In the middle ages, it was not cured. It simply burnt itself out when there were no more available bodies to infect. Nowadays, it is cured by antibiotics( Antibiotics are medical drugs used to kill bacteria and treat infections).
